STRETCH MARKS: WHAT A CURSE!

Stretch marks appear where the skin has been stretched beyond its range of elasticity. The skin cracks and the deep collagen fibres break. Stretch marks may also have a particular colour, ranging from white to light purple.

Stretch marks can appear anywhere on the body, but they are most common on the hips, buttocks, stomach, legs and breasts. They look like small stripe-like grooves.

They typically appear during puberty, pregnancy, or following rapid and significant weight gain or loss. They are also associated with certain metabolic and hormonal disorders.

Stretch marks affect a vast majority of women, sometimes causing great distress.

We can suggest different treatments to improve the appearance of stretch marks, either by using a filler agent (when they only cover a small area), or using fractional laser therapy combined with skin firming. Make an appointment to discuss the available options.
