Acne Scars
Do you have acne scars? Although the ideal is to act as soon as acne appears in order to limit the risk of scarring, there are treatments that can help reduce the appearance of acne scars. During your first consultation or skin evaluation, several treatment modalities may be suggested depending on the type and depth of your scars. The experts at the DGB Clinic will guide you towards the most effective treatment for your individual situation, in addition to being available to answer questions related to your daily skin care routine.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Micro-Needling and Infusion
Acne scars are one of the skin-related issues with the greatest impact on self-confidence. To date, one of the most effective treatments remains the combination of micro-needling and platelet rich plasma (PRP) infusion. This treatment, popularized under the name ” vampire facial”, offers many benefits in terms of skin quality. On the one hand, a safe micro-needling technique can be used on the facial skin to induce biostimulation and therefore collagen production. On the other hand, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is an autologous serum, i.e. made from your own blood, which contains the growth factors necessary for skin regeneration and acts by optimizing blood circulation as well as increasing the quality and texture of the skin. These two techniques are combined to provide the best results in terms of overall texture of the skin. In general, an initial protocol of three to six treatments is recommended. Optimal results take an average of six weeks to be achieved. Treatment effectiveness lasts an average of 6 to 12 months.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels have been used since the time of ancient Egypt to give glowing skin. Although application techniques and product concentrations have changed, the essence of the treatment remains the same; the pH of the skin is lowered to break the bonds between the cells in the outermost layers of the skin to reveal radiant, glowing skin. These treatments are performed using different acids with special properties. In fact, there is a treatment designed to improve skin texture and diminish the appearance of superficial acne scars. Chemical peels can also improve skin firmness, reduce the appearance of fine lines and dilated pores. In terms of radiance, this treatment offers a decrease in hyperpigmentation and rosacea as well as a glowing effect. The treatment lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes. The results are visible as of the following week. A treatment protocol may be recommended. The treatment interval varies according to the individual and the results desired, ranging from 2 to 16 weeks.

Injectable fillers for acne scars
Fillers (Restylane®, Teosyal®, Belotero®, Juvéderm®, Revanesse®) are injectables mainly composed of hyaluronic acid, a sugar naturally produced by the body. These gel-form products can be used, among other purposes, to improve the appearance of certain deep acne scars. The goal is to fill in the depression and obtain smoother skin. The procedure lasts approximately 15 to 30 minutes depending on the areas treated. Results are visible immediately, but the optimal effect is obtained in the weeks following the procedure.
